Full Circle
Hey friend!
After many, many years I am back on blogger!
Back when I was 16/17 years old I had a blog on here and I loved it! Since then I have been on Instagram, had at least 3 different blogs/websites, tried TikTok, and even tried Substack.
I enjoy creating, but I really missed my old blogger days. I remember those days sitting in my room and typing out whatever was on my mind, uncaring how polished it sounded or whether or not people would even read it. I missed just blogging to be creative, not to make content and get a lot of views but to just create for me.
Anyways, I'm back with blogger. I've spent way too much time thinking about what blog platform I wanted. There are so many options now days in my 30s than what was available to me back when I was 16! I have been on Instagram for years and years but I have found that I miss the days of writing out captions under my edited photos. Now days it it just a bunch of addicting reels that I get sucked into. Of course it seems like everyone would suggest wordpress.org or any platform where you actually own your site. And I have had multiple websites on that in the past. But I am not ready to commit to the payment right now. I also tried Substack, because I do love the idea of getting paid to write, but quickly realized that I do miss the creative part of customizing a website.
Not only that, but I have missed writing down my own words without trying to make it sound polished or put together. Now days all the growth advice on social media and blogging is to pick your niche, define your audience, and write something meaningful, or entertaining, or useful, for them in order to grow.
But honestly, once again, I just want to write for me. To share what's going on in my life. To share my story. To share my thoughts. Without it sounding polished or perfect. So that is what this is. My corner of the internet. If you find my site, welcome! And if you're reading this, thank you!
I named this blog Reading Through Infertility because it feels most like me. I have been going through infertility for over 6 years now and one way I've survived it is through reading. I have always liked reading and I enjoy reading a lot, and I like reading a lot of different genres.
A couple things I'd like you to know about me is that I am a wife (we will celebrate our 8 year anniversary in December!). We have been going through infertility as I said for over 6 years and it was really hard those first few years. I am a mama because of adoption, and I love my son to pieces! I am a Christian and my faith was definitely tested during the early years of infertility, so I guess you could say I am working on growing my faith now. We just moved to a new state I'm trying to find community. I went to school to be a mental health counselor and got listened but then through infertility and adoption, my desires for my life completely changed and now I am a stay at home mom who is also dog sits on the side to make a little extra money.
This blog is mostly my own personal journal as well as a collection of my writings. I will probably share my infertility journey and soon to be IVF journey. I will probably share mental health tips and about my faith as a Christian. I might share about motherhood and a little about adoption. I of course will share the books I'm reading and enjoying! Basically I have no niche. I am going to post what makes me happy. And I am excited for it!
And I feel like it needs to be said that I am not using AI to help me write on this blog. Everything I write here is coming 100% from me, an actual human being. Not because I think AI is bad or wrong, but because it has been taking away my creativity by brainstorming for me or writing for me. So this is more of a rule/boundary for me to create on my own and not worry about getting it perfect.
Anyways, that's all for today. I can't wait to chat more later!
